Update: Fudge was selected by Shopify staff to be featured on the Shopify App Store homepage. Read more.

We’re excited to share that Fudge has officially achieved Built for Shopify status. This is Shopify’s highest quality certification for apps, and we’re proud to have earned it.

What is Built for Shopify?

Built for Shopify is a certification program that recognizes apps meeting Shopify’s most rigorous standards. As of November 2025, fewer than 7% of apps in the Shopify App Store had earned this badge.1

To qualify, apps must meet strict requirements across three areas:

  • Performance: Apps cannot slow down your storefront by more than 10 performance points
  • Design: Apps must follow Shopify’s design standards for a consistent admin experience
  • Integration: Apps must use Shopify’s latest technology standards for full compatibility2

Apps are reviewed at least once annually to ensure they continue meeting all criteria.3 It’s not a one-time achievement - it’s an ongoing commitment.

What this means for you

When you see the Built for Shopify badge on Fudge, you can trust that:

  • The app has passed Shopify’s rigorous testing
  • Performance and reliability meet the highest standards
  • You’re using an app that meets Shopify’s quality bar

These are standards we’ve always worked to uphold. The BFS badge validates that commitment.

What makes Fudge different

Fudge is the AI operator for Shopify stores, not just another page builder. Here’s what sets us apart:

Built natively for Shopify. Fudge is designed from the ground up to work specifically with Shopify.

AI at its core. Fudge was built with AI at its core. It reads your products, brand, and theme before making changes, so the pages and edits it drafts actually fit your store.

No templates required. Unlike traditional builders, you don’t start from a template and modify it. Describe what you want, and Fudge generates it automatically.

Brainstorm before you build. Not sure what you need? Chat with Fudge to explore ideas before committing to a design.

Edit with natural language. Want to change the hero section? Just tell Fudge what you want different. No dragging, no clicking through menus.

Built for campaigns. Whether it’s BFCM, seasonal promotions, or product launches - Fudge handles landing pages, bundles, and promotional builds with ease.

What’s next

We’ve seen strong growth and consistently positive reviews since launch. But we’re just getting started.

We’re working on making complex things easier - like building advanced bundle configurators, integrating with Klaviyo for popups, adding specialized skills to the AI agent, and introducing blog post support.

Update: since then, popups connected to Klaviyo and blog posts have both shipped.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
